This pack has six sections:

Preparation includes a photograph of filling sandbags on Minehead beach, instructions to Head Teachers on action to be taken in the event of an air raid, details of emergency rations to be held in case of invasion, measures to combat enemy parachutists, a code of conduct for civilians in the event of the enemy landing

Making do includes wartime recipes, advertisements by The National Savings Committee and The Ministry of Food, appeals for local people to grow more vegetables, household tips on making food go further and making a luminous collar for the family dog so that he wouldn't be lost in the blackout

Land Army girls includes statistics on the number of women in the Land Army and the work they could do, reminiscences of women who served in the Land Army and photographs of women at work on the land

Evacuees includes advice issued by Somerset County Council to people taking in evacuees, reminiscences of people who were evacuated as children to Somerset, extracts from school records showing friction between local and evacuated children and the latter's admission to local schools, a photograph of evacuees arriving at Minehead and a letter from a local council concerning the number of billets available in the town

Enemy action includes an account and photograph of bombing damage in Wincanton, an account of the rescue of someone trapped in a bombed building in Bath and a list of incidents in the Frome area

V E day has a photograph of a street party held to celebrate the end of the war in Europe
