Outdoor education centres

 

We run four residential education centres in Somerset:

  • Kilve Court 
  • The Outdoor Centre 
  • Great Wood 
  • Charterhouse Outdoor Centre

Kilve Court is a Georgian Country House with modern extensions, situated in 40 acres of wooded grounds and gardens, at the foot of the Quantock Hills and one mile from the sea.  You can find out more by visiting www.kilvecourt.co.uk .

The Outdoor Centre
is set in the grounds of Kilve Court with accommodation for up to 70 children and six staff in cabins.  You can find out more by visiting www.kilvecourt.co.uk .

Great Wood is set in four acres of grounds and features an outdoor swimming pool, campfire area, a volleyball court and a short tennis court.  Accommodation is available for up to 70 children and 14 staff, provided in eight en-suite cabins.  You can find out more by visiting www.kilvecourt.co.uk// .

Charterhouse
is an award winning outdoor and environmental centre with facilities for schools, youth, college, corporate, family and community groups.  It is in the heart of the Mendip Hills, 30 minutes south of Bristol, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with crags, cave systems, plateaux and rolling uplands.  We have on-site our own Nature Reserve with its wetlands, woodlands and grasslands, a climbing venue, several caves and numerous team-building challenges.  Accommodation is available for up to 45, consisting of eleven rooms each accommodating up to four residents.  You can find out more by visiting www.kilvecourt.co.uk// .

These education centres are mainly for young people from schools and colleges, although the Charterhouse Centre is also available to corporate, family and community groups.
