We provide laboratory testing, monitoring, sampling and advice in the following areas:
Asbestos Analysis and Surveying - We undertake asbestos surveys, inspections, air monitoring, analysis and sampling. Our service is used for site management of asbestos and also includes: site demolition, refurbishment and clearance testing following removal.
Environmental Monitoring - Our services include: landfill gas monitoring, outdoor air quality sampling,environmental water sampling, private water sampling, swimming pool testing, contaminated land sampling and advice on associated health and safety issues.
Noise and Vibration Assessment and Building Acoustics - Providing noise/vibration measurement and the preparation and appraisal of technical reports relating to development/mineral planning, health, marketing and building performance. Providing advice on the specification and verification of acoustic criteria.
Radon and other Radiation Monitoring - We provide a comprehensive service to ensure compliance with HSE guidance for radon affected areas. This service includes the provision of risk assessments, monitoring, advice, reporting and an appointed Radiation Protection Advisor.
Water Analysis - Potable/Non-Potable/Environmental - Analysing drinking, environmental, industrial, recreational and waste waters for chemical and microbiological parameters. This service is provided to public private and private sectors to address health and safety concerns and to ensure compliance with regulation.
Workplace and Occupational Exposure Monitoring - A one-stop-shop for occupational hygiene work. Providing COSHH assessments, workplace hazardous substance monitoring, indoor air quality/sick building syndrome surveys, LEV testing and advice.
Display Energy Certificates -We provide accredited Display Energy Certificate (DEC) assessments and renewals.
Display Energy Certificates provide information of the actual energy used by a buildings occupier over a 12 month period. Advisory Reports accompany the Energy Certificate and advise the occupier on methods to reduce their carbon impact.
It is a legal requirement for all public buildings with a floor area greater than 1000m2, to display a valid Energy Certificate (renewed every 12 months) and to be in possession of an Advisory Report (renewed every 7 years).
Along with accredited Display Energy Certificate assessments, we also provide a Renewal Scheme that automatically schedules our client's certificates renewals. This reduces the hassle and worry of complying with regulation.

Main Laboratory - Samples for chemical and microbiological analysis:
A Block, County Hall, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 4DY. There is very limited parking at County Hall. Short stay parking is available on the Crescent and in the Crescent car park opposite B Block. Long stay car parks on Tangier.
Asbestos Team - Asbestos samples:
Chelston, Wellington, TA21 9HP. Directly off the roundabout on the A38, parking on site.
When is it open?
The laboratories are open to receive samples 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 4:30pm Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday.

We are accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for testing and inspections (asbestos). UKAS inspect us every year.
We hold Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency certification.
We participate in external proficiency testing schemes appropriate to our range of services, including AQUACHECK, MICROCHECK, FAPAS, RICE and AIMS and we are supported by a dedicated analytical quality control section.
