Somerset's Second Local Transport Plan sets out our transport objectives for the period between 2006 and 2011 and what we are doing to meet them. It also includes the targets which we use to measure our progress and an overview of the implementation programme, which sets out the detail of how we are putting our plans into action.
The Second Local Transport Plan will be replaced by Somerset's new Future Transport Plan when it runs out in March 2011. To find out more about our new plan and how you can get involved, please click on the 'Future Transport Plan' link under 'Related Services'.
About this service
Somerset's Second Local Transport Plan aims to tackle congestion and pollution, improve accessibility and safety. The plan is also used by central government to work out how much Somerset should be allowed to borrow to fund transport schemes.
The final Somerset 'Local Transport Plan 2006-2011 (LTP 2)' was successfully submitted to central government in March 2006. It replaced the Provisional (draft) Local Transport Plan 2006-2011 (LTP 2), which was submitted to central government in July 2005. The Future Transport Plan for Somerset will replace the Second Local Transport Plan when it expires in March 2011.
