The role of carers in our communities could not be more vital than it is today
Care workers provide an essential service, whether it is visiting people in their homes to help them remain independent, or supporting them in residential homes, each carer’s contribution is invaluable to helping others live their lives. As a care worker the small things that you do could help make a big difference to someone’s life.
That is why we are supporting Proud to Care – to tell people about how rewarding a career in health and social can be.
You can choose to work with disabled people, older people, people who use mental health service or people with a learning disability.
You may help with
- Preparing meals, shopping and other outings, or providing interesting activities
- Washing, eating, going to the toilet, dealing with emotional difficulties

Search for jobs in care
Each employer will have their own arrangements for training and supporting new staff and for pay and working conditions. There will also be a requirement to undertake an Enhanced DBS which employers will complete on your behalf.
