The 2016 Listening Learning Changing initiative is now over. A big thank you to the 6,000 plus people that we spoke to and heard from throughout the summer.
A report summarising the results is available here. ‘Helping vulnerable and elderly people’ was by far the highest priority highlighted by residents for the fourth year running. ‘Investing in Somerset’s economy and infrastructure’ was the second priority, followed by ‘attracting jobs and apprenticeships’, indicating the value the public puts on the economic growth agenda and the County Council’s role in it.
It is being shared with decision makers and considered in budget decision making meetings, alongside the results of individual consultations and all the other factors that must be taken into account such as national policy and, of course, the savings we need to make.
