Customer hubs

We are developing our Customer Hubs to create welcoming, safe, flexible and modern spaces, fit for the future, reflecting the changing needs of our customers and providing convenient access to a range of services in one place.

To find out more about events going on at the Glastonbury Library Hub visit Orchard Court or check out their Facebook page

Our hubs have a 'no wrong door' policy, where staff are trained to make sure they can respond to customer enquiries efficiently, and signpost where appropriate. This has also helped us to extend opening hours by providing a self-service approach supported by our customer staff.

It is estimated that these changes will generate revenue for the Council of £1.5 million over 25 years.

We carried out a countywide engagement exercise with customers in December 2015. This was called ‘Listening, Learning and Changing - the Future of Hubs and Libraries’ and here are the results. We are using this to inform the way we create and develop hubs across the county.

Williton
We have now approved a business case to create a customer hub in Williton. The Hub at Williton forms part of the new One Public Estate Programme which provides support and funding to local authorities to deliver ambitious, property-focussed programmes and is delivered in collaboration with central government departments and other public sector partners.
