County Ticket applications for 2016/17 have now ended. Applications for the County Ticket 2017/18 will be available shortly.
The County Ticket is an annual bus pass for students who attend a Further Education course at a 16+ establishment. This includes work-based learning courses.
The pass is a ‘Love the Bus’ smart card, which carries the student’s name and the name of their 16+ establishment, which can hold different products - the first of which is the County Ticket.
The price is £675 and will be held at that for the 2016/17 academic year.
How to apply
Please use the ‘Apply now’ button below. Please make sure you read all the terms and conditions of use before filling in the form.
For information about restrictions please see the ‘County Ticket Terms and Conditions of use’ document in the Information and Resources section of this page. Look for the questions ‘Is there a limit to the distance you can travel with a County Ticket?’ and ‘What are the Individual Bus Operator Restrictions?’
The County Ticket does not cover journeys that are wholly outside Somerset, or any travel by train.
The cardholder must present the card to the electronic reader on the bus. Where the bus does not have an electronic reader, show the pass to the bus driver.
Students are eligible if they attend a 16+ establishment when the course they are taking is funded by the Education Funding Agency (EFA), or they are attending college as part of a work-based learning course. The 16+ establishment will be able to tell you if the EFA funds the chosen course.
You may be entitled to claim funding from the 16-19BursaryFund. Please use this link or contact your chosen 16+ establishment for more information.
