The online application for a 2017/18 County Ticket is now available, for both pay in full by credit/debit card and Direct Debit.
The pass is a ‘Love the Bus’ smart card, which carries the student’s name and the name of their 16+ establishment, which can hold different products - the first of which is the County Ticket.
The price is £695 and will be held at that for the 2017/18 academic year.
Please make sure you read all the terms and conditions of use before filling in the form.
For information about restrictions and cancellation details please see the ‘County Ticket Terms and Conditions of use’ document in the Information and Resources section of this page. Look for the questions ‘Is there a limit to the distance you can travel with a County Ticket?’ and ‘What are the Individual Bus Operator Restrictions?’ and 'What if I apply and then no longer require the County Ticket'
The County Ticket does not cover journeys that are wholly outside Somerset, or any travel by train.
The cardholder must present the card to the electronic reader on the bus. Where the bus does not have an electronic reader, show the pass to the bus driver.
Students are eligible if they attend a 16+ establishment when the course they are taking is funded by the Education Funding Agency (EFA), or they are attending college as part of a work-based learning course. The 16+ establishment will be able to tell you if the EFA funds the chosen course.
You may be entitled to claim funding from the 16-19 BursaryFund. Please use this link or contact your chosen 16+ establishment for more information.
Other transport ticket options
All bus operators offer a range of daily tickets and most can offer types of season tickets at a discounted rate. We strongly advise you to check your options with the bus operators to make sure the County Ticket is the most appropriate ticket for your needs.
