Somerset County Council makes approximately 200,000 payments a year to many thousands of suppliers for goods and services we have bought from them. Additionally a number of outside bodies make use of this service by using the corporate financial system Cedar (previously known as QSPF). These bodies include the SW Regional Assembly, South Somerset District Council and Avon & Somerset Police.
The processing of suppliers invoices for payment is devolved to several hundred sites throughout the county. As a general rule the site that originally ordered the goods or services is also the site that arranges to make payment and does this by entering the invoice details to Cedar. Even though the service is heavily devolved the Creditors Team in Exchequer Services processes a significant number of invoices.
