Financial Information Systems (FIS)

The FIS Team is responsible for designing, testing, implementing, enhancing and maintaining the Authority’s on-line Corporate Financial Information System (CedAr formerly QSPF).

This is a modular system and its primary functions are to:

• Record the statutory accounts and necessary management information
• Enable users to control and monitor the budget
• Raise purchase orders and pay all our suppliers
• Raise income invoices and pursue all outstanding debts
• Record and control our fixed assets
• Provide an inventory management and stock control system
  

In addition to the above, the system assists in the completion of various statutory returns and grant claims, provides information for the recovery of VAT and helps us to meet Government targets (e.g. E-Procurement and prompt payment of suppliers).

The FIS Team also provides the above service to the Avon and Somerset Police Authority, South Somerset District Council and Exmoor National Park.

Additionally, the system interfaces directly with other external systems to allow other users (e.g. schools) access to the benefits of a modern on-line system.
