The Insurance Section administers the County Council’s Insurance Fund which self-insures the majority of insurance risks.
The section ensures that the Council has an economically advantageous mix of internal and externally insured risks and handles the majority of claims made against the Council under the terms of the cover.
This enables premiums to Services to be kept well below external market rates and allows robust handling of external liability claims.
