The investments section within the treasury directorate is responsible for all of the County Council’s investment and financial funding activity and the section is the main contact with the County Council’s Bank.
The main investment area is the management of the investments and accounting records for the Somerset County Council Pension Fund. A secondary investment activity is managing the County Council’s cash.
The funding activity involves borrowing money for the Council. We also administer the use of operating leases for a wide range of equipment used by the County Council.
As the main contact with the County Council’s bank the section forms the primary resource for all questions regarding the use of banks by the council.
