Somerset County Council Procurement Strategies
The purpose of the Procurement Strategy is to communicate clearly to all stakeholders; Operational Managers, Corporate Directors, Procurement specialists and Suppliers in the private and voluntary sectors, the Council's vision for the way forward in its procurement of services, supplies and works so that they may all play a meaningful role in the implementation of that vision.
The strategy sets out:
· The priorities for procurement to support the Council's strategic objectives
· The principles that underpin procurement activity across the Council
· The nature of the Council's procurement activity
· Roles and responsibilities for procurement in the Council
