The Children and Young People's Directorate came into being in April 2005, headed up by the Corporate Director, David Taylor. Delivery of services to children is organised under four Heads of Service as shown below. Alternatively a PDF of our structure can be accessed here [ 25.8k].

Schools and Achievement Judith Richardson is the Head of Service - Schools and Achievement. Judith's service area includes:
	Education Development Service E-Learning & Information Management Planning & School Admissions

Children's Social Care Linda Barnett is the Head of Service - Children's Social Care.
	Children´s Social Care includes services for vulnerable and disadvantaged children & young people, children looked after, fostering and adoption services, services for children with disabilities and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

Partnerships John Kirby is the Head of Service - Partnerships. John's service area includes:
	Early Years & Childcare Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership Youth Offending Team Youth Service Joint Commissioning Localities Extended School Services, Community Learning Partnerships, Workforce Development
