Working in Partnership to reduce crime & disorder in Somerset

The Community Safety Team at Somerset County Council works to reduce crime and disorder and the fear of crime in order to make Somerset a safe place to live, work and visit. To achieve this we work in partnership with the Police, District Councils, Health Service, Fire and Rescue Service, Youth Offending Team, Probation Service and other partners. These partner organisations form two Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) across Somerset and the Somerset Drug & Alcohol Action Team (DAAT).

The Executive Portfolio Holder for Community Safety is County Councillor Henry Hobhouse.

The team comprises the Safer Communities Manager, three Community Safety Officers, a Community Safety Assistant and a Research Officer (there are currently 2 vacant positions).
