For people who are returning to work after a period on benefits, there are a number of Work Schemes and programmes offered by Jobcentre Plus. To find out more phone 0800 055 6688 or go to the Jobcentre Plus website.
When you start work some of your benefits will stop at once, others will continue for a short time and you may be able to claim new benefits. Some schemes even allow you to try work while you are still receiving benefits at the same time.
