Libraries Pillbox 8

Introduction

You have moved with your family to a house in the countryside in Somerset. From your bedroom window you can see a wrecked concrete building in a field. You've checked it out with binoculars and spot that it has narrow slits instead of windows. Most of it is covered with brambles so you can't see how big it is. It looks like a good den and you want to know if anyone uses it.

You meet the farmer who owns the field whilst you're with your mum at the farmers' market and ask him what it is. He tells you that it is a pillbox and that he thinks it was built during World War Two. Another customer says that it was part of the Taunton Stop Line

You know a bit about Britain in the Second World War, but have never heard of Pillboxes or the Taunton Stop Line.
