Renewing library items

You can renew library items up to 20 times without bringing them to the library provided no one else has requested them. If the item you wish to renew is already due for return but has been requested by another borrower, you may be able to renew it for just two or three days to give you time to return it - please contact Libraries Direct on 0845 3459177.

Renewals can be made in the following ways:

  • the Internet on the LibrariesWest website (card & PIN number needed)
  • telephoning the 24 hour renewal line 0845 0020777/ 01823 334344 (card & PIN number needed)
  • returning them to the library for reissue/renewal
  • informing the library by post or fax
  • telephoning Libraries Direct on 0845 3459177
  • using a People's Network Terminal in the library (card & PIN number needed)

If you renew an item that is overdue the overdue charges will be added to your account to be paid next time you visit the library. If you renew any items that you paid to borrow, such as a talking book, video, DVD or CD, you will be charged another loan fee.
