Come to the Somerset Record Office and learn how to find out about your ancestors. This day provides an introduction to the range of archives we hold and the services we can offer you. Find out how we care for Somerset's historic archives and how documents are repaired and preserved. Receive advice from staff about how to research your family and have a chance to begin your own research into your Somerset ancestors.

Have you ever wondered about the history of your house? Discovering the history of property involves detective work and this event will introduce the archival sources available at Somerset Record Office. The day will include a tour behind the scenes to find out how we care for Somerset's archival heritage and how documents are repaired and preserved. There will also be an opportunity to gain practical experience by working in groups to uncover the history of a Somerset property.
