Activities for Pre-School Groups
Somerset Rural Life Museum - Glastonbury
Tuesday and Thursday mornings during term time
We are offering activities for pre-school groups led by a museum leader. The sessions last about one and a half hours and may include:
-
a story telling or reading
-
hands on activities using some original objects
-
a gallery exploration including ‘treasure’ hunt
-
traditional singing games
-
a refreshment break for children (provided by the museum) and adults (tea/coffee available from Tea Room)

The activities take place indoors in the Victorian farmhouse or in the farm courtyard, depending on weather. Groups are welcome to visit other parts of the museum site, which includes a cider orchard with sheep and poultry. You may also picnic in the museum grounds or covered areas. There is a gift shop with small souvenirs suitable for children.
We are pleased to adapt the sessions to the needs of the individual group. If you would like to discuss your visit with a member of the education staff, please ask for Mary Gryspeerdt, Keeper - Extension Services.
