This team provides an analytical microbiological service on a wide range of foods, animal feeds, drinking and recreational waters and consumer products.
The team is responsible for ensuring that council premises are free from microbiological hazards and provides proactive support as well as reactive advice where illness or disease has been caused by bad practices. These can range from support in dealing with food spoilage complaints and food poisioning incidents to dangerous pollution in drinking water supplied or swimming pools.
