The Pollution Monitoring Team provides a quality inspection and analysis service in the following areas:
PRIVATE WATER SUPPLIES AND DRINKING WATER
The quality of drinking water is of paramount importance to us all. The pollution and consumer section is a leading provider of independent water analysis. Drinking water is tested for its compliance with the Private Water Supplies Regulations 1991, Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000 and the Natural Mineral Water, Spring Water and Bottled Water Regulations 1999.

LANDFILL GAS MONITORING
The County Council provides a high quality service in undertaking landfill gas investigations at both closed and active landfill sites.
Services provided:

Routine analysis of the major landfill gases including: CO2, CH4, CO and O

Analysis of trace components of landfill gases

Major initial site investigations and the planning of gas monitoring programmes

WASTE WATER, EFFLUENT AND LEACHATE ANALYSIS
The County Council carries out waste water, effluent and landfill leachate analysis.

ENVIRONMENTAL WATERS
The County Council provides a sampling and analysis service for environmental waters.
