The County of Somerset is endowed with some of the finest landscapes in the country. The very quality of and nature of its rurality is an asset and resource, which pervade social, economic and environmental fabric, and in many ways defines the character and nature of the county itself.
The Countryside Services Group is committed to working in partnership with others to conserve and enhance Somerset's environment, including its landscape and biodiversity, to enable its public enjoyment and to encourage sustainable use of the land.
The Countryside Group undertakes activities and delivers services and outcomes across the following areas of work:
