CYCLE ROUTE BETWEEN CORKSCREW LANE AND GIPSY LANE, TAUNTON
“Somerset County Council is committed to improving routes for walkers and cyclists and I’ll look forward to seeing people enjoy this route improvement.” The cycle path runs northwards on the east side of the Taunton Vale Sports Club providing improved access to the sports club.
Construction of this scheme commenced 8th January 2007 and is anticipated to last four weeks.
The scheme is an off road cycle route, providing a continuous cycle link between Corkscrew Lane and Gipsy Lane, Taunton. The cycle path runs northwards on the east side of the Taunton Vale Sports Club providing improved access to the Sports Club and may enable additional cycle trips to Ladymead School.
The cycle path will be segregated and installed adjacent to the existing footpath and will be approximately two metres in width. A safe crossing point will also be provided to assist cyclists wishing to cross Corkscrew Lane to gain access to the cycle path.
