Free Education Resource Launch: From mid April 2006, geography teachers of Key Stage 2, 3 or 4 will be able to download our free education resource from our education resource page. The resource is aimed at teachers nationwide and concentrates on rivers and flooding using the Parrett Catchment as a case study for activities and investigations. The purpose of the resource is to engage children not only in learning about the geography of rivers and the causes of flooding, but also provide different perspectives on the issues, impacts and solutions to flooding.
To ensure the resource is of a high standard and is easy and fun to use it will be subject to review and feedback by local geography teachers. Being web-based the pack is easy to improve, update and evolve over time. Please read the appeal below.
The resource covers topics including:
- Rivers & their influence on land and people
- Landscape features and land use
- Debating different perspectives on a local issue
- Exercises such as map reading, investigating feeding relationships in rivers and watch a wetland wash up
- Ideas for site visits, case studies and lesson fillers.

Appeal: Teacher's Help Wanted. If you are interested, willing to provide evaluation feedback and are happy to be quoted in public relations material, we would love to hear from you.
