Better Roads
These could include a new Northern Inner Distributor Road, which would provide access to Firepool and help relieve congestion. In addition, there could be minor improvements to the Priory and Priorswood Roundabouts and extension of the "clearway" on East Reach.

It needs to be noted that these are all choices, on which we are seeking your views. The strategy will also include better management of the road network. Updates to the Urban Traffic Control network, which links the traffic signals in the town, will help to reduce traffic queues. These improvements will help to deliver:

access to the proposed development area in Firepool;

improved air quality and reduced traffic impacts in sensitive areas; and

The Economy -
improved strategic linkages to stimulate economic development, improved access to West Somerset, reduced congestion and more reliable journey times; |

reduced accidents through better management of the road network. |
