Walking and Cycling

Measures will include improved facilities for both pedestrians and cyclists on the main routes into the town centre, together with more convenient walking links in the town centre and better information on cycling facilities in the town.

  promoting cycling and walking to reduce use of the car for short journeys, making better use of the road network, and reducing congestion;

  ensuring that the town centre is attractive and safe, and also encouraging healthier lifestyles;

  creating continuous, convenient and safe networks for pedestrians and cyclists; and
  
  
• An Inclusive Community
  assisting people without access to their own car, by improving the alternatives.
