Somerset County Council help to promote and develop bus services through direct service subsidy and through the joint provision of promotional literature and timetables.
Comprehensive timetable booklets are produced for each of the five District areas, Mendip, West Somerset, Sedgemoor, Taunton Deane and South Somerset with a complimentary route map and guide.
In addition a bespoke Sunday leaflet is produced which gives ideas for leisure activities by bus and how to get to them.

Some of the services directly funded by the Council included the Glastonbury Tor Bus and the service 400 "Exmoor Explorer".
In addition to these special services, the Council was successful in being nominated for a bus industry award under the "Buses in the Countryside" category for its record breaking service 99.
