Free Repair and Ride Scheme

Somerset County Council are proud to offer FREE bike servicing.
|
Businesses across Somerset are being offered the opportunity to get their employees bikes fully serviced free of charge, as part of the new ‘Repair and Ride Scheme’.
The scheme is designed to help those who already cycle and those who wish to cycle to do so more often by offering free bike servicing to all employers across Somerset.
Servicing and repairs will be carried out by a fully qualified bike mechanic. |

Businesses wishing to particapate will be required to submit a letter outlinning their commitment to the promotion and development of sustainable measures.

The full bike service will include the following:

Check frame and fork for any damage etc |
|
| • |
Check wheels - true where possible |
| • |
Check tyres - inflate to correct pressure |
| • |
Check and reset brakes |
| • |
Check and reset gears |
|
| • |
Check and adjust headset |
| • |
Check bottom bracket and chain set |
| • |
Check and tighten all bolts as necessary |
|
The scheme will also provide free cabling,
brake pads and other minor parts where necessary.
|
Certain bikes may need specialist parts, although we shall provide the basics where possible.
