Why Cycle

Introduction

Perhaps the most common reason people give for not cycling is safety in traffic. However, the health benefits of regular cycling far outweigh the risk of being injured in an accident, and it’s often the fastest and most reliable way to travel.

Many health experts are now of the opinion that the days of ‘no pain, no gain’ are over

There is a focus on moderate intensity, with recommendations that taking around 30 minutes of physical activity most days of the week can provide important health benefits. So for an average cyclist, that is only 2 short journeys of about 2-3miles each way on most days.

 The Ease of Cycling

Cycling not only benefits health in a wide variety of ways, but it is also a highly appropriate mode of physical activity as it can be carried out easily as part of daily life. This includes local journeys to shops, schools, and work places. It is one of the few physical activities that can be undertaken by the majority of the population.
