Booktime

Booktime aims to encourage parents and carers to continue to enjoy sharing the pleasure of reading with their children at a key stage in their learning and development.

Getting to grips with graphic novels, comics and manga

This training day will give delegates a greater understanding of this medium and how to work with it both as part of the curriculum and in relation to students' leisure reading. Delegates will be able to explore a collections of books, discover sources of information and support, discuss issues around visual literacy and start planning and networking regarding possible future activities.

Off by   Heart

Has your school signed up to Off by Heart and could one of your pupils be crowned UK Poetry Recital Champion?

The BBC is on a mission to find the UKs Poetry Recital Champion in a thrilling competition for 7-11 year olds to be shown on BBC Two in prime-time.

The BBC wants to encourage primary school pupils to engage with reciting poetry. Every primary school in the UK is invited to nominate one child aged 7-11 to enter Off by Heart for the chance to represent their school and region in the final which will be shown on BBC TV.
