Please note: School complaints are subject to a different procedure to complaints about the County Council. People who wish to complain about Somerset County Council should refer to the Comments and Complaints section of this site and use the on-line form to register their concerns. This information below explains the procedure for making a complaint about a school. No on-line form is provided for this as concerns must be raised with the school in the first instance.
Your child's school will aim to provide as many opportunities to keep you informed and involved in your child's progress as they possibly can - with regular reports, open days and visits all helping the process. Questions and concerns are usually dealt with quickly and helpfully.
However, sometimes parents and schools have a misunderstanding, but these can often be sorted out by talking to the right person. Most concerns can be settled without too much trouble, but whatever the issue, even where you are seriouslu concerned about your child's future at the school, it is always important to try and find an answer.
For further information, please refer to the 'Frequently Asked Questions' and/or the 'Concerns and Complaints' leaflet in our publications section of this site.
