The Customer Access and Equalities Manager develops and leads the implementation of a Corporate Equalities Strategy and Community Cohesion Strategy for SCC including the Equalities Scheme and the Corporate Equalities Plan; identifying, developing and promoting policy, frameworks, guidance material or procedures to ensure compliance with statutory functions.They also implement Customer Access Standards and a Complaints & Fair Treatment Management System across the authority to ensure fair access to services and enable the authority to learn and improve standards

The Research and Project Officer provides research, analysis, reports and related support services to the Equalities Manager. They work as a member of a small team and undertake an assortment of continuous and one-off assignments according to need. They will works closely with other county council departments, with other public bodies inside and outside the county, with the voluntary sector and with elected members.
