Access
|
| The access section gives you information on how we as a council will provide you with access to different aspects of the council. Contained in this section is how the council promises to help you gain access to information and the methods in which we will do that. How the council will help you to gain access to all public areas of Somerset County Council buildings and facilities. Also in this section is how we promise to assist our staff with their training and development and also any issues that they may have with their employment with Somerset County Council. |

Promise and Responsibility

| This section is here for two reasons. The first is to inform you of how we as a council are going to keep to the promises that we have made. The second part is to tell you how the equalities structure works and who is responsible for what. |

Equalities Scheme and Corporate Equalities Plan 2005 - 2008
|

It seemed logical in it’s second revision to assimilate both plans into the one Equalities Scheme and Corporate Equalities Plan because their aims are the same – to place actions and targets against identified issues to ensure equality of outcome for all with regard to disability, age, race, gender, sexual orientation and caring responsibilities.
