Historical Research

Somerset Registration Service has custody of all registers for births, deaths and marriages which have occurred in the County since 1837.

We are happy to provide copy certificates to assist you in researching your family history, as long as you can provide us with enough information to locate the entry you are looking for.

There are five registration districts in Somerset and each one holds the registers for their own district only. Please follow the 'contacts' link for details of district offices.
