Nursing and Residential Care

Somerset County Council can offer advice, information and assistance to people who are thinking of moving into a care home. With help in their own home, many people find they do not have to move.

Contact us for information and advice about the choices available.  You, of someone on your behalf, can ask us to assess your needs.

The Care Quality Commission registers and inspects all care homes. If you are looking for a care home, you can get free independent reports about the quality of local care homes and care services by looking at the CQC website.  You will find a link to this in the Related Websites section on the right of this page.
Or:

If you need general advice and information on choosing a care home, and a list of care homes for adults in Somerset, please click on the dropdown Related Websites.  This will take you to the website sponsored by Somerset County Council and run by the Residential Care Providers Association (Somerset).
