Introduction

If you give up your time, without pay, to look after a family member, a friend, or a neighbour who is ill, frail, or has a disability, then you are a carer.

You may be a parent carer, a young carer, or care for an older person.

You and the person you care for can get help, advice, and support from many health and social care professionals and voluntary support groups in Somerset.

It is important that the new national carers strategy is shaped by carers themselves and the organisations which support them.  This is the most extensive consultation with carers so it is important to make the most of this opportunity by following the links below.
