Somerset Adoption Service can provide information and advice about the children requiring adoptive families and the adoption process in this country so that you can make an informed choice.
If you remain uncertain about which route to follow, ie Domestic or Inter Country Adoption, you will be invited to one of our information sessions where you can talk to social workers and raise any queries you need answering. If you decide that you want to proceed with Inter Country Adoption you will be told that on April 1st 2007 Somerset County Council entered into an agreement with PACT (Parents and Children Together, www.pactcharity.org ) for all work associated with adoption from abroad within Somerset.
PACT will provide a complete specialist service to applicants wishing to adopt from abroad, including advice, assessment, PACT Adoption Panel, approval, and dealings with the DCSF.
