Work Preparation

There are various ways in which Adults with Learning Disabilities can learn about the world of work.

We have a variety of community settings, sited throughout Somerset, that offer opportunities for individuals to attend work preparation or work training tailored to meet individual needs and aspirations. A number of people will move from supported placements into paid work with local employers or voluntary work with charities.

Where appropriate, individuals are offered support during the initial stages of working in mainstream or voluntary employment.

Alternatively, people may wish to access the world of work through Job Centre Plus or Connexions (see Related Services and Websites on right).
