Introduction
The iAero Centre is a purpose-built 2,398 square metres research, design and innovation facility in Yeovil, built to support the competitiveness and growth of the aerospace and associated high-value design and engineering technology supply chains. The Centre offers high-quality office, light industrial and collaboration space as well as innovation support services.

Meet the team
Austin Chick – Head of iAero
Austin leads the set up and initial development phase of the iAero Centre, to deliver the iAero Centre’s Vision and strategic objectives, and maximise the added economic value of the Centre to the regional aerospace sector and community.
Jessica Beedle – iAero Operations Intern
Jessica is on a summer placement from the University of Liverpool, working for Somerset County Council by aiding the daily operations of the iAero Innovation Centre.
Callum Jones – Leonardo Business Graduate
Callum is undertaking a placement at iAero as part of Leonardo’s Business Graduate Programme where he is supporting strategy and events.

Location – south and west of the Leonardo Helicopters Airfield, close to the A3088 and the new Western Relief Road ‘throughabout’.
From A303 – follow A3088 to Yeovil, take the second, left hand lane at the ‘throughabout’ and take the second exit to Bunford Lane.
From A37 south – take the left onto A30 and right at the next roundabout, then left at the traffic lights and the third exit at the ‘throughabout’ onto Bunford Lane.
From A37 north, follow A303.
From A30 east, follow signs to Taunton and A303, at the ‘throughabout’ take the third exit to Bunford Lane.

Upcoming events
The West of England Aerospace Forum is hosting a breakfast event for members during September. Colin Turner, CEO, is excited to welcome his team.
The South West Regional Defence and Security Cluster will be holding an event at iAero for selected guests this Autumn. We anticipate that this will be a popular event with many people attending.
Previous events
Recently, the MOD announced their Heavy Lift Challenge 2, hosting the release here at iAero. This event was attended by over 70 guests, with people travelling from across the country and even the world to attend – one guest flew from New Zealand.
After many months in the making, guests from across the country presented their findings at the Final Future Flight 2Zero Conference. Attendees included representatives from the University of Nottingham, Exeter Airport, Logan Air, Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership.
European Regional Development Fund
The iAero (Yeovil) Centre Project is receiving up to £3,049,240 of funding from the England European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is the Managing Authority for ERDF. Established by the European Union, ERDF funds help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support innovation, businesses, create jobs and local community regenerations.
