Introduction

We have, on behalf of the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership, secured £1.18 million of European Regional Development Fund monies for the Heart of the South West Inward Investment Support ERDF Project.

This funding is part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is the Managing Authority for ERDF .

Established by the European Union, ERDF funds help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support innovation, businesses, create jobs and local community regenerations.

This Project will seek to increase foreign direct investment into the HotSW Local Enterprise Partnership area of Somerset, Devon, Plymouth and Torbay through a programme of activity to facilitate the landing of new foreign direct investment into the area and to support the growth of the area’s existing foreign-owned companies.

The Project will be open to all eligible businesses but will focus primarily (though not exclusively) on the key inward investment sectors that have already been identified for the HotSW area:

• Aerospace and advanced engineering
• Agri-tech, and food and drink
• Environmental futures
• Marine industries.
