Somerset Councils’ submission options for the new unitary Council’s potential electoral arrangements
Following the Secretary of State’s approval of the One Somerset Business Case without modification on 21 July 2021, representatives from the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) have provided an opportunity for the five Somerset councils to submit an opinion on council size and warding options for their consideration as part of drafting the Structural Changes Order (SCO). That opinion, is provided in the files below, with details on how the assessment was carried out can be found in the Options Paper.
