What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. As a Business Support Assistant within the Public Transport Team, you will be providing a crucial role in providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the team. This role will involve a variety of tasks including managing correspondence, coordinating meetings and maintaining records.

Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Providing general administrative, coordinating diaries and arranging meetings.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information during document preparation or storage.
  • Act as the first point of contact for clients, suppliers, the public and staff, proving information and resolving queries.
  • Support IT systems housekeeping and routine health and safety checks.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • GCSE’s or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an administrative support role, handling confidential information and using computerised record systems.
  • Understanding of administrative processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality principles.
