We offer a welcoming environment where you can come for a drink and a chat, to look at the resources and equipment we have on offer and discuss your specific needs. We house a library of the latest professional publications and educational resources and books.

The Learning Support Centre (LSC) is designed to be flexible as well as visually inviting and relaxing. This enables us to work supportively and collaboratively with professionals, parents and our local community to ensure the best possible provision for children, young people and adults with Special Educational Needs.

Membership
Membership is free for parent carers and families that care for someone with a Special Educational Need. A small annual membership fee of £100 is chargeable for nurseries, schools, residential settings and other organisations.

Membership includes:

  • The loan of equipment and books
  • Visual aids such as a feelings book
  • Help to find and access support groups

  • EAL Resources ‚Äì supplied by the Somerset Early Years EAL Advisory

New and updated resources are added on a regular basis. Staff are available to advise and help when members are looking for something specific.

Support for Schools
In addition, the LSC membership offers specialist support that aims to support other settings in meeting the needs of those with special educational needs. The LSC is home to many educational resources available to borrow free of charge for parent carers with children with special educational needs. Schools and organisations can become members of the LSC for a small annual fee of £100. We aim to provide resources that will support stimulating and engaging lessons. Intended for special educational needs in mainstream schools, they can enrich the provision for a wide range of pupils.
