What is SCERTS and why is it important?

The SCERTS framework is based on evidence to create a positive environment for young people who are autistic or have social, emotional and mental health differences.

The model is designed to provide guidance for helping children to progress and provide families and schools with help to feel successful in supporting the child.

What’s on offer

Somerset Education and Health professionals have already taken part in training for SCERTS. Parent carers can sign up two workshops:

30 November 2022 (6-8pm) – https://forms.gle/9RgxipJyrMxmGoM76

7 December 2022 (12-2pm)- https://forms.gle/95AnYQVpBAhvbYih7

This workshop will help parent carers to understand the SCERTS model and process.

Who will be leading the workshop?

The workshop will be led by Emily Rubin, Director of Communication Crossroads Inc. in Atlanta, USA. She is a speech-language diagnostician specialising in autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, and related social learning disabilities.

Emily is the co-author of SCERTS and lectures internationally to help develop programs for social, emotional and mental health needs in the classroom setting.
