Re-developing these historic buildings into a sustainable hub for local start-up, small and growing businesses, educational groups and the community. The complex will also house a small, dedicated museum celebrating the industrial past and future.

Rationale:

Addresses need to regenerate a historic, iconic set of buildings that are part of Glastonbury’s industrial past.
Delivers much needed, flexible and multifunctional space.
Provides space needed for Glastonbury Environment Centre
This project will aesthetically and physically re-energise the Baily’s complex which is part of the town’s industrial past and is closely linked with the wider community.

It will create a zero-carbon hub for local start-up, small and growing businesses, educational groups, workshops and the Glastonbury. Environment Centre all housed within a beautifully conserved historic building complex together with a small, dedicated visitor centre celebrating the industrial past.

Outcomes/Impact:

Creation of business and learning space

Development of a vibrant business quarter with net profits to be donated back to community
