The National Deaf Children’s Society hosted a series of monthly Stay and Play sessions at Compass Wellbeing in Taunton between November and January with the aim of bringing together families of deaf children living in Somerset and allowing deaf children to meet and get to know other deaf children.  Also attending these sessions was NDCS’s Advice and Guidance Officer Debbie Ravensdale who was on hand to offer help and support for issues that were affecting families ranging from benefits to education.

NDCS is here to support any child with deafness from the ages of 0-25 years, membership is free to join and there is a helpline available for advice when needed as well as helpful information on our website. Somerset also has a local Facebook group: Somerset Deaf Children’s Group where families can keep in touch with each other and ask questions too.
