Introduction
Pride in Place is built on a simple but powerful principle: local people know their community best, putting long-term change directly into the hands of the community.
The Pride in Place programme is community‑led. In Bridgwater South, a Neighbourhood Board will be set up. This board will include local residents, the local Member of Parliament, councils, businesses and community organisations. Together, they will decide how the funding is used and how the area develops.
Role of Board
- Neighbourhood Boards decide the priorities for how Pride in Place funding is spent.
- The Board must work with the wider community to ensure that it is engaged in the development of the Pride in Place Regeneration Plan, setting out a vision for their area and the projects that they would like to prioritise.
