Introduction

The Yeovil town centre masterplan sets out how the town centre, and the wider urban area around it, should be improved and redeveloped.

The plan was formally adopted on 4 February 2026. This means it must now be taken into account when giving pre‑application advice, deciding planning applications, and carrying out other planning work in the Yeovil town centre area.

As a result, the masterplan will play an important role in shaping future decisions about how the town centre changes and develops. It will also support the current Somerset local plan and the new local plan that is being developed.
