IntroductionNext MeetingMeeting Schedule

Introduction

The Agreed Syllabus Conference (ASC) is a statutory body brought together to produce an agreed syllabus for Religious Education (RE).

This body must:

  • Produce and unanimously recommend to the Local Authority an agreed syllabus for RE
  • Specify what will be taught through the agreed syllabus
  • Make publicly available, all papers and minutes of each meeting for the duration of the ASC and until the next ASC is convened for reviewing the syllabus

Membership of the ASC is based on the same structure and process as SACRE and includes members from different sectors of education as well as faith and non-faith representatives.

Meeting Schedule

Meeting dates for the remainder of the ASC will be published once available.

Meetings take place either in person or by Microsoft Teams and usually begin at 1.30pm. Non-members are welcome to attend these meetings as observers. If you would like to attend, please contact sacre@somerset.gov.uk no later than 5 working days before the meeting.
